Artist Tim Cox was born in 1957 and raised in the small ranching community of Duncan, Arizona, near the New Mexico line. His paintings are filled with warm fall colors, clear running streams, gentle range cattle, working cow dogs, and good Quarter Horses ridden by grassroots cowboys or dyed-in-the-wool old-timers doing routine ranch chores. Tim has studied under William Whitaker, one of the West's finest art teachers. He has also been fortunate to have help from Gordon Snidow, who worked with him in 1983.
"It is difficult to separate being a cowboy from being an artist. My paintings are a diary of a cowboy's life - my life."
At eighteen, Tim was the youngest artist ever to show at Trailside Galleries, and he has continued to set records ever since.
