Whispering Wings Trumpeter Swans by wildlife artist Mort Solberg.
I have tried to capture for the viewer the moment of delight when one chances to encounter trumpeter swans in the wild. It has become increasingly difficult to see them like this because they are being pushed further and further into the wilderness by the encroachment of civilization.
In this painting, however, the viewer can imagine the swans emerging from the ground fog almost silently. They stretch to feel the morning sun on their feathers as it reaches to warm the earth. One can almost feel the painting warming with their appearance — and the rest is left to one's imagination.
