"I have always been inspired by the drama of the Cape buffalo. During a journey to the western corridor of the Serengeti, I witnessed this massive herd prefectly poised under a large acacia tree filled with Buffalo Weavers nests.

 

"The composition was excellent and I chose to exaggerate the horizontal format to make the herd seem as if it goes on forever. Each of the buffalo truly had its own personality and I had great fun recognizing and capturing each one! With this massive herd featuring the huge bulls throughout, yellow-billed ox peckers, buffalo weavers flying and the majestic backdrop of the mountains, it instilled a beauty and a moment in time, symbolizing the magic of Africa that I shall never forget." - John Banovich.
